Jared Belew Selected as Next Director of Student Services
Superintendent Will Schofield announced today his intent to recommend Jared Belew as the next Director of Student Services. He will make the recommendation Monday, June 22, 2026, at the scheduled board meeting. Belew, who is currently Principal at Spout Springs Elementary School,will replace Joey Millwood, who will retire at the end of the school year.
“It is an honor to serve within Hall County Schools, and I am excited to continue this work as I transition into the role of Director of Student Services in the upcoming year,” said Belew.“Throughout my career, I have remained committed to advancing academic achievement, fostering authentic relationships with stakeholders, and cultivating a strong culture of learning. I look forward to expanding this impact and continuing to support students across the district.”
Belew brings more than 25 years of experience in public education, including service as a principal with Hall County Public Schools from 2018 to the present, assistant principal from 2014 to 2018, media specialist with Hall County and Clayton County Schools from 2005 to 2014, and classroom teacher with Clayton County Schools from 2000 to 2005.
“The role of the Director of Student Services requires a deep understanding of pedagogy and assessment, excellent logistical and organizational skills, compassion, and a heart for serving others,” said Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Suzanne Jarrard. “Jared Belew checks all the boxes. Over the course of his career, he has demonstrated an ability to build relationships with stakeholders that support meeting the needs of all students. We have no doubt Jared will continue the good work that is the hallmark of the HCSD Student Services Department.”
Belew earned a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Mercer University in 2012. He also holds a Master of Education in Library Media and a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University, earned in 2004 and 2000 respectively. In 2014, he completed his Gifted Endorsement through Hall County Public Schools.
