Out-of-District Choice Application
Out-of-District Application Process Now Open From March 1-31, 2021
The Out-of-District Application for new students in the 2021-2022 school year is now available until March 31, 2021. For an application to be considered, student application and transcript should show, at a minimum, satisfactory behavior and attendance, as well as average or above-average achievement with no history of failing courses.
If a student is accepted into the Hall County School District, then he/she will be offered a seat at the requested school if there is available space at the requested school. Accepted out-of-district students pay tuition of $1,000 per student by June 1, 2021.

The parent/guardian must provide Hall County Schools with all of the following documents mailed or emailed directly from the current school or submitted in a sealed envelope. We have a Sealed Transcript Request Form parents/guardians may use (*currently enrolled students who move out of HCSD do not have to provide records):
____ All completed courses and final grades
____ Current schedule and most recent progress report
____ Any educational records (Gifted, IEP, 504, etc.) to determine available space to meet a
child’s learning needs
____ Behavior Records (If the student has no history of discipline, then please submit a letter from the school stating that the student is in good standing.)
____ Attendance Records
____ Standardized test scores
If a student is entering kindergarten, please include a letter of recommendation from a current preschool teacher and any other preschool records that pertain to kindergarten readiness. It is required to attend a kindergarten screening in April, and applicants will receive further information when dates/times have been decided.
Out-of-District Application Information for
Currently Enrolled Students Who Move Out of HCSD
During the School Year
Currently enrolled students who move to a new residency address that is outside of the Hall County School District and who wish to remain in their current school may apply to be accepted into the Out-of-District program. The steps are outlined below:
1) Please change your address through your Parent Portal. You will need to notify the school about the change of address.
You can update your Census information and upload your documents to the Parent Portal at: https://www.hallco.org/web/ic-portal-users/
· Login to your Parent Portal
· Click on ‘More’ on the left hand side
· Click on ‘Student and Household Information’
· Click on ‘Click here to go to Existing Student Registration’
· Click on ‘Begin Registration’
Make any necessary changes and upload documents to your child’s application and click submit. Please make sure to contact your child’s school about the changes made.
2) Complete the 2020-2021 Out-of-District (Tuition) Application (below) and submit to Joy Morris and Laurie Ecke at HCSD district office within 5 days of move
3) If Out-of-District Application is approved, parent/guardian must pay pro-rated tuition and student may remain enrolled at current school
