When submitting the application in March, the parent/guardian must provide Hall County Schools with a sealed envelope of official records, OR the previous school(s) can send the official records directly via mail or email. We have available a Sealed Transcript Request Form for parents/guardians to use to request a copy of student records from the school. The official student records include records for the previous 5 years:
- All completed courses and final grades
- Current schedule and most recent progress report
- Any educational records (Gifted, IEP, 504, etc.) to determine available space to meet a child’s learning needs
- Behavior Records (If the student has no history of discipline, then please submit a letter from the school stating that the student is in good standing.)
- Attendance Records
- Standardized test scores
If students are currently in grades Pre-K – 2nd grade, please include records from as many years as possible. Currently enrolled students who move out of HCSD do not have to provide records.
If a student is entering kindergarten, please include a letter of recommendation from a current preschool teacher and any other preschool records, if applicable.
CURRENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS WHO MOVE OUTSIDE OF THE HCSD MAY APPLY TO REMAIN AS OUT-OF-DISTRICT (TUITION) STUDENTS
A currently enrolled student who moves to a new residency address that is NOT within the Hall County School District and who wishes to remain enrolled in his/her current school may apply through the Out-of-District Application. For an application to be considered, student application and official transcript should show, at a minimum, satisfactory behavior and attendance, as well as average or above-average achievement with no history of failing courses. If a student is accepted into the Hall County School District, then he/she will be offered a seat at the requested school if there is available space at the requested school.
Accepted out-of-district students normally pay tuition of $1,000 per student, which is due to be paid in full by June 1 OR if out-of-district attendance is only applicable for part of a school year, the tuition is prorated based on the days of attendance.
Currently enrolled students who move out of HCSD do not have to provide records.
