Flowery Branch High School Engineering Program Earns Perfect Score on Industry Certification Review

Flowery Branch High School’s Engineering program has earned a perfect score of 100 on its recent Industry Certification review, marking a major achievement for the school, its students, and the broader community.
This distinction reflects the strength of the FBHS Engineering program’s instruction, facilities, safety practices, industry alignment, and commitment to preparing students for success in college, careers, and the modern workforce. Earning Industry Certification confirms that the program meets — and in this case exceeds — the rigorous standards set for high-quality Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education programs in Georgia.
The perfect score highlights the work being done every day in the Flowery Branch engineering lab, where students engage in hands-on, real-world learning experiences in design, manufacturing, robotics, engineering graphics, problem-solving, and emerging technologies. Through these experiences, students are not only building technical skills but also developing collaboration, communication, leadership, and critical thinking abilities that will serve them well beyond high school.
“This recognition is a huge accomplishment for our program and a reflection of the hard work of our students, school leadership, system support, and industry partners,” said Harmon Tison, Teacher. “A perfect score validates the quality of the learning experiences we are providing and reinforces our commitment to giving students meaningful opportunities to explore engineering, innovation, and workforce-ready skills.”
The certification review process evaluates multiple areas, including curriculum, instruction, student engagement, equipment and facilities, safety procedures, business and industry involvement, and program documentation. Receiving a score of 100 demonstrates that Flowery Branch High School has built a program that not only meets expectations but also serves as a model of excellence.
FBHS’s Engineering program has continued to grow through strong community and industry support, expanded lab spaces, updated equipment, and opportunities for students to apply their learning through projects, competitions, and leadership experiences. These efforts help ensure students leave the program with both technical knowledge and practical experience that connect directly to future career pathways.
This accomplishment also reflects the support of Hall County Schools, school administration, advisory committee members, industry partners, and families who continue to invest in student success and workforce development.
Flowery Branch High School remains committed to providing students with innovative, high-quality engineering education that prepares them to lead, create, and solve problems in an ever-changing world.
