Robert Wilson Named HCSD Director of School Improvement
Superintendent Will Schofield announced today his intent to recommend Robert Wilson as the Director of School Improvement for the Hall County School District. The recommendation will be made Monday, June 22, 2026, at the scheduled board meeting.
“I am deeply grateful to Superintendent Schofield and the Hall County Board of Education for this opportunity to serve as Director of School Improvement, “said Wilson. “School improvement work has been the foundation of my career since my early days at the Georgia Department of Education, working with schools identified for improvement. This new role is really a continuation of the work I have been passionate about for many years — supporting schools, teachers, and leaders to ensure every student can succeed. I am excited to continue that work alongside the outstanding educators and communities of Hall County Schools.”
Wilson served as a School Improvement Specialist with the Georgia Department of Education and later served as an Assistant Principal in Fulton County Schools. He joined the Hall County School District as an Assistant Principal at Flowery Branch Elementary School, where he served for two years before spending six years as Principal of Lyman Hall Elementary School. Wilson then served seven years as Principal of Cherokee Bluff Middle School. Since 2025, he has led Chicopee Woods Elementary School as Principal.
“Over the course of his career, Mr. Wilson has consistently demonstrated an ability to move the needle for student learning,” said Suzanne Jarrard, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning. “His strong understanding of effective professional learning for teachers, combined with his ability to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families, has made a lasting impact in each school community he has served. These strengths will serve him well in his new role as Director of School Improvement for the Hall County School District.”
Wilson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from LaGrange College, a Master’s Degree in Education from Troy State University, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.
