The Hall County School District announced today the retirement of Eddie Millwood, Director of Digital Convergence, effective at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year. Millwood’s career with the district spans 31 years and reflects a lifelong commitment to serving Hall County students, families, and educators.
Millwood began his career as a teacher and coach at East Hall Middle School in 1994 and later served at C.W. Davis Middle School. Over the years, he held leadership roles as assistant principal and principal at both East Hall Middle School and C.W. Davis Middle School before moving to the district level in 2018 as Director of Digital Convergence. In that role, Millwood helped guide the district’s technology vision and supported the integration of digital tools to enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency.
“Eddie Millwood has been a steady, trusted leader in Hall County Schools for more than three decades,” Superintendent Will Schofield said. “He brings a rare combination of instructional experience and technical understanding, which allowed him to bridge the gap between classrooms and systems. Eddie has always approached his work with humility, integrity, and a genuine desire to serve others. His leadership has played a critical role in modernizing our district while keeping students and educators at the center of every decision. We are deeply grateful for his 31 years of service.”
Dr. Aaron Turpin, Chief Operations Officer for the district, who oversees Technology and Digital Convergence, praised Millwood’s leadership and impact.
“Eddie’s influence on our district’s digital growth cannot be overstated,” Turpin said. “He led Digital Convergence with a clear vision, strong work ethic, and a deep understanding of how technology can support both instruction and operations. Eddie has been a collaborative problem-solver and a mentor to many, and his leadership helped position Hall County Schools to meet the evolving demands of a digital learning environment. He leaves behind a strong foundation that will benefit the district for years to come.”
Millwood reflected on his career with gratitude and appreciation for the people who shaped his journey.
“I have been blessed beyond measure in my life, and one of these blessings has been that I have been able to serve my entire 31-year career as a member of the Hall County School District,” Millwood said. “During my time as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and director, I have had the honor to meet so many wonderful students, parents, and colleagues. These relationships have had an immeasurable impact on my life, and I will be eternally grateful for all of the people who have been a part of this journey.”
The Hall County School District thanks Eddie Millwood for his decades of leadership and service and wishes him continued success and fulfillment in retirement.
