Ryan Vamplew Selected as Next Principal of North Hall High School
Superintendent Will Schofield announced today his intent to recommend Dr. Ryan Vamplew as the next Principal of North Hall High School. He will make the recommendation Monday, March 23, 2026, at the scheduled board meeting. Vamplew, who is currently an Assistant Principal at Seckinger High School in Gwinnett County, will replace Principal Billy Wells, who was recently selected to be Director of Transportation for the Hall County School District.
“I am deeply grateful to Mr. Schofield and the Hall County Board of Education for the opportunity to be the next principal at North Hall High School,” said Vamplew. “It is not lost on me how much of an honor it is to be part of a community with such a rich tradition of excellence in the classroom and beyond. I look forward to supporting the teachers and students of North Hall to continue the good work already in progress.”
Vamplew brings nearly two decades of educational leadership experience to North Hall High School, spanning roles in Gwinnett County Public Schools and beyond. Most recently, he has served as Assistant Principal at Seckinger High School, where he helped lead the school to a 97.3% graduation rate, the highest in the district. His career also includes serving as Director of Human Resources for Gwinnett County Public Schools, Assistant Principal at Mill Creek High School—where graduation rates rose from 88% to 94% under his leadership—and earlier instructional and classroom roles supporting digital learning and AP Human Geography.
“Dr. Vamplew has built a record of driving academic growth, supporting staff development, and strengthening school communities,” said Superintendent Will Schofield. “We believe his character and unique skillset will be great assets to students, staff, and the community.”
Vamplew holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and a master’s in Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia. He began his academic preparation at Central Michigan University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a major in Social Sciences and a minor in History.
