HCSD’s Agribusiness Center Awarded Fall Garden of the Season

The Hall County School District’s Agribusiness Center has been awarded the Fall Garden of the Season by the Georgia Department of Education’s School Nutrition Division.
This afternoon, Dr. Lynette Dodson, deputy superintendent for school nutrition at the Ga DOE; Kelly Toon, Farm to School program manager at the Ga DOE; Kristin Schupp, area consultant for Pioneer RESA at the Ga DOE; and Caroline Haney, marketing specialist from the Ga Department of Agriculture, presented the award to our School Nutrition team and Agribusiness team members at the Meat Science Center. Following the presentation, guests toured the farm.
The Farm offers hands-on experiences in agriculture, including honey cultivation, meat science training, and cattle production that supports our cafeterias. Nearly 5,000 students and more than 900 community members visited last year.
We are grateful for this recognition and proud of the partnership between our School Nutrition Department and Agribusiness Center that continues to set a standard for agricultural education in Georgia.
