HCSD Honors Work-Based Learning Students Showcase Final E-Portfolios to Local Business Partners

In a culmination of months of hard work and real-world experience, the District’s Honors Work-Based Learning (WBL) students recently presented their final ePortfolios to a group of 40+ local business partners. This event, held at Lanier College and Career Academy on Wednesday, March 19th, marked a key milestone for students who have been actively engaged in hands-on learning experiences all year long.

The Honors WBL program is designed as a capstone to Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) coursework, giving them the opportunity to gain practical skills and insights while applying their classroom knowledge in real-world settings. Throughout the academic year, students have been immersed in various industries, gaining invaluable work experience and collaborating with professionals across fields such as construction, healthcare, marketing, and engineering.

Each student’s ePortfolio serves as a comprehensive digital reflection of their achievements, showcasing the projects, skills, and competencies they have developed during their internships and years in CTAE. These ePortfolios not only highlight the students’ growth and development but also offer a glimpse into the future workforce and the potential these students have to offer.

By presenting their ePortfolios to local business leaders, students have the chance to make lasting connections, showcase their talents, and get valuable feedback as they prepare for the next step in their careers. Local business partners were impressed by the students’ professional presentations, noting their ability to articulate what they have learned, the challenges they have overcome, and the impact of their contributions to the organizations they worked with. Many business partners expressed their interest in continuing their support for the program and providing future opportunities for WBL students.

The Hall County School District is proud of the students’ accomplishments and looks forward to continuing its commitment to work-based learning opportunities that empower students to thrive in the workforce, college and enlistment.
