Superintendent Will Schofield announced today his intent to recommend Joey Farah as Interim Principal of Flowery Branch High School. The recommendation will be made at the Monday, June 9, 2025 board meeting. Farah, who currently serves as Assistant Principal for CTAE at Flowery Branch High School, will assume the responsibilities held by current Principal Dr. Jason Carter, who has been selected to serve as Director of Secondary Education for the Hall County School District.
“I am deeply grateful to Mr. Schofield and the Board of Education for the privilege of serving as Interim Principal of Flowery Branch High School,” said Farah. “My five years at this remarkable school have been truly rewarding, and I am thrilled to continue the journey with our exceptional educators, students, and supportive community. For the past 19 years, my family and I have proudly called Flowery Branch home, and we cherish being part of this wonderful community.”
Farah brings 19 years of experience in education to his role, having served in a variety of instructional and leadership positions. He began his career at Parkview High School as a special education and marketing education teacher, while also coaching softball and baseball for 12 years. He continued teaching and coaching at Mill Creek High School before moving into administration in 2017 as an assistant principal at Apalachee High School. For the past five years, he has served as an assistant principal over CTAE at Flowery Branch High School. Farah has been recognized statewide for his contributions to education, earning honors such as Georgia Marketing Administrator of the Year (2022), Administrator of the Year for the Technology Student Association (2023), and being named a finalist for Georgia Administrator of the Year by Georgia Association of Secondary School Principals (2024).
“With nearly two decades of experience, including the past five years as a valued assistant principal at FBHS, Joey Farah has consistently demonstrated a commitment to innovation, character, and high expectations,” said Superintendent Will Schofield. “His statewide recognitions in CTAE reflect not only his passion for student success, but also his ability to build programs that prepare young people for life beyond the classroom. We are confident that Mr. Farah will provide steady, visionary leadership for the Flowery Branch community.”
