A quarantine is for an individual who has been exposed to COVID-19 and has been identified as a direct contact by a health official.
The Hall County School District will no longer conduct contact tracing; however, a health care provider could identify a student or staff member as a direct contact. In these cases, the individual may attend school/work without wearing a mask—as long as they remain asymptomatic.
If, however, the individual becomes symptomatic, he or she must stay home 5 days from the onset of symptoms and may return on day 6 as long as they are fever-free and their symptoms have improved. No mask is required on days 6-10. This will only apply when we have been notified by DPH that an individual is on quarantine.
