This rings true for Kaitlyn McMillian (n\u00e9e Byrd), a 2014 graduate of Chestatee High School. Going into 9<sup>th<\/sup> grade, Kaitlyn didn\u2019t have a specific niche or career that interested her and had settled on taking the business administration route. In 11<sup>th<\/sup> grade, she enrolled in healthcare classes to expand her career options. This is where she found her calling and passion in life. Inspired by Allison Wilson, her healthcare teacher, Kaitlyn knew that she wanted to pursue nursing.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, GA (2018 graduate) and then obtained her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from United States University in San Diego, CA (2021 graduate). During her experience, she worked as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Children\u2019s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite and inpatient rehabilitation at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. As an FNP, Kaitlyn has worked in family medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and mental health.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Kaitlyn works for Mental Health Matters, LLC as the Executive Director of Clinical Operations. In this role, she treats patients in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah and supervises the therapy and nurse practitioner teams across the country. In her current role, Kaitlyn has married her background in business administration and healthcare, finding purpose in serving patients and serving her employees.<\/p>\n<p>For Kaitlyn, acting on her calling provides her with daily fulfillment by serving others in different capacities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>High school is a place of decisions and discovery.
