Thank You!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Hall County School System is required by law to inform you of the following law and consequences. The school must keep a signed copy of this form on file for one school year.<\/p>\n<p>O.C.G.A. 20-2-690.1 &#8211; Compulsory Education<\/p>\n<p>(a) Every parent, guardian, or other person residing within this state having control or charge of any child or children between their sixth and sixteenth birthdays shall enroll and send such child or children to a public school, private school, or a home study program that meets the requirements for a public school, private school, or a home study program; and such child shall be responsible for enrolling in and attending a public school, private school, or a home study program under such penalty for noncompliance with this subsection as is provided in Chapter 11 of Title 15, unless the child&#8217;s failure to enroll and attend is caused by the child&#8217;s parent, guardian, or other person in which case the parent, guardian, or other person alone shall be responsible;<\/p>\n<p>(b) Every parent, guardian, or other person residing within this state having control or charge of any child or children and who shall violate this code section shall be convicted of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A fine not less than $25 and not more than $100<\/li>\n<li>Imprisonment not to exceed 30 days<\/li>\n<li>Community service<\/li>\n<li>Any combination of such penalties at the discretion of the court having jurisdiction<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each day&#8217;s absence from school in violation of this part after the child&#8217;s school system notifies the parent, guardian, or other person who has control or charge of a child of five unexcused absences shall constitute a separate offense.<\/p>\n<p>O.C.G.A. 20-2-150 &#8211; Compulsory Education; Law Pertaining to Kindergarten Students<\/p>\n<p>All children enrolled for 20 school days or more in the public schools of this state shall become subject to all provisions of this article, the provisions of Code Section 20-2\u00b0690 through 20-2-702, and the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education relating to compulsory school attendance even though they have not reached seven years of age.<\/p>\n<p>As the parent\/guardian of ______________________________________________, I have read the Georgia State Law on Compulsory Education.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n<div  class='hr av-v7ytk8-399aa61428f7f6138d740eea370bbeb2 hr-default  avia-builder-el-4  el_after_av_textblock  el_before_av_textblock '><span class='hr-inner '><span class=\"hr-inner-style\"><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-m6qlfzbe-b106adfa93dde924287e449bc9808909 '  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3941 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" alt=\"\" width=\"25\" height=\"25\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.hallco.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/MS_Word-75x75-e1568140477652.png\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hallco.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Compulsory-Education-Notification-to-Parents.docx\">Click Here to Download the Document Above<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":10,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-33384","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
