Carrie Woodcock, head of World Languages and World Initiatives for HCSD, has announced that that the World Language Academy (WLA) was awarded our state’s first ever Innovative Program Award for a K-12 institution by the Foreign Language Association of Georgia. The award was presented this past weekend in Atlanta at the annual state conference.

The award is designed to celebrate the collaborative nature of language education programs and to recognize the collective efforts of departments, programs, and/or student groups to promote language learning. WLA was selected because of its outstanding collaborative efforts with its summer language camps and summer Pre-K programs.
