4-H Club

The focus of this club is community service, public speaking and leadership.  The club meets immediately after school on Tuesdays until 5:00 pm.  New members are always welcome.

Academic Team

Linda Lott and Tricia Carlisle

The Academic Team is a competition team requiring knowledge in several areas.  In order to join, students must be recommended by a teacher.  It is comprised of 12-14 students who enjoy challenging academic games.  These students compete with other area schools.  The team practices twice a week during the Fall.

Art Club

WHMS Art club allows members art related opportunities throughout the year through various projects for the school, community and themselves.  Membership is open to all students.  We meet every Tuesday in the morning.  Our main focus this year will be to plan/design and create a school mural.

Canine Club

Ann Fultz

We are all about having a good time with our canine (dog) friends.  This is an interactive club that cycles through 6 meetings.  (Fridays from 7:45-8:30 am, when possible)  We will be completing our "Meeting our Breed" research projects and meeting peole in the pet care business, such as veterinary techs and groomers.  We hope to visit a dog training facility and welcome our law enforcement dogs to attend a meeting about dog companion training.  we have home pet porjects with photos and videos planned, as well as a big celebration for all participants in the Spring at Chicopee Ag Center.  Students will choose a service project for our community, such as baking or bringing supplies for the Humand Society animals.

Drama Club

The Drama Club's mission is to provide experience and further develop skills for participating in dramatic productions.  The members rehearse and perform skits and plays for the students and community.

Environmental Club

Windy Edwards, Roxi Mitchell, and Fran Voelker

The Environmental Club meets weekly from 3:45-5:00 pm and is open to all students.  This club is for all students have an interest in exploring and working with the environment.  We explore with activities, projects, films and field trips.  The topics explored are geography, plant and animal life and taking care of natural resources.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Jeff Williams, Genia Reid, Robert Donaldson, Jennifer Elrod, Myriah Richerson

The vision of FCA is to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and fellow students.  FCA meets every Thursday in the media center at 7:50 am.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

Janice McKenzie

FBLA is the oldest and largest national organization for students preparing for careers in business leadership.  FBLA prepares students for "real world" professional experiences.  Students can attend conferences at state sponsored events.  Also, members have the opportunity to compete for awards and recognition on the state level.

Student Council

The Student Council is composed of representatives from all three grade levels.  Students who apply for the position must have recommendations from all academic teachers. Student Council sponsors Pennies for Thanksgiving and various other fundraising projects.
