Principal's Message

Our school year will focus on Character, Competency, and Rigor for All. Our mission is to help students develop the knowledge and skills that will promote success in school and in their lives after high school. We seek to develop lifelong learners for a global society. Please join us in encouraging students to do their best in their classes and to get involved in high school activities. We, like you, want this to be a successful year for your children.

We are proud to serve the many good people in our community and we promise to do our best for your child. As parents of our students, you are our most valued partners. We look forward to a great year and to serving you and your children.

The unity poem that follows describes the value we place on our parent partners.

Unity Poem

I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there.
The clay they used was a young child’s mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher, the tools he used
Were books and music and art.
The other was a parent with guiding hand
And a gentle loving heart.
Day after day, the teacher toiled with touch
That was deft and sure.
While the parent labored by his side
And polished and smoothed it o’er.
And when at last their task was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought
For the things they had molded into the child
Could never be sold or bought.
And each agree they would have failed
If each had worked alone.
For behind the parent stood the school
And behind the teacher, the home.

Drama wins Region One-Act Play West Hall High School’s production of Children’s Letters to God competed in the 7-AAA GHSA One-Act Play competition and placed 1st in the Region.  On Thursday the 29th at the Sub-Region competition, we received Best Set and 3 All-Star Cast awards: Morgan Peacock, Megan Smallwood, and Ben Thomason.  At the Region Competition, we received Best Costumes, Best Ensemble, and 4 All-Star cast awards: Suzanna Grindle, Morgan Peacock, Ben Thomason, and Jazz Wages. West Hall will be competing for the AAA State Championship on Saturday, November 14th at Northside High School in Warner Robins. The production is directed by the husband & wife team of Sarah Lindahl & Miro Gomez.  In preparation for the competition, we will be presenting an encore of our Region performance on Thursday, November 12th at 7:00 pm at West Hall High School. Tickets are $5. This is a really big honor for our school system, especially since there has not been a Hall County school to win the Region One-Act Play title since 2001 when West Hall performed Jesus Christ Superstar. West Hall High has won 2 State One-Act Play titles, both in 1994 & 1996.

Student ID Badges All students at all grade levels are required to wear ID badges to school. These badges are making WHHS an even safer school.

All overdue fines for ID Badges must be paid in order to receive new ones or disciplinary action could result. The school will not be making money on the badges, but we are trying to operate with no debt owed. We issue one ID a year at no cost to the student but when they lose, forget, or damage their ID, we must issue new ones at cost for security reasons.

If  you have questions or concerns, please call or email the West Hall Administration.

Regular School Hours School hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

STUDENTS MUST BE IN A SCHEDULED SUPERVISED ACTIVITY TO REMAIN ON CAMPUS AFTER 3:30 PM.
