Math

Measurable Goals: 

All student achievement in mathematics will increase from 85.2% meeting or exceeding standards in SY 2010 to 87.6% meeting or exceeding standards in SY 2011 as measured by the CRCT with a minimum of 95% participation for all subgroups.

Student achievement in Math in all students will increase by the following:

       Grade 1- From 98% to 99%
   
    Grade 2-From 84% to 86%
   
    Grade 3-From 77% to 80%
   
    Grade 4-From 81% to 84%
   
    Grade 5-From 86% to 89%

Actions, Strategies, and Interventions for Math goals

1.  Continue implementation and monitoring of Singapore Math in grade K-5.
2.  Create a schedule that will allow strongest math teachers to teach math
3.  Continue support and increase monitoring for implementation of Everyday Counts Calendar Math K-5
4.  Continue to monitor RTI and small group instruction for struggling math students

Reading/Language Arts

Measurable Goals:   

The percentage of students in grades 3-5 meeting and exceeding in reading as measured by the CRCT will increase from 95 % in 2009-10 to  96 % in 2010-2011 with a minimum of 95 % participation.

90% of students will read on or above grade level by the end of the 3rd grade.

Student achievement in Reading in all students 1-5 will increase:
1st  Passing rate up to 95%
2nd from 88.9% to 90%
3rd to remain 100 %
4th from 95.2 % to 97 %
5th from 90 % to 92 %

The percentage of students in grades 3-5 meeting and exceeding in ELA as measured by the CRCT will increase from 89.3 % in 2009-2010 to 91 % in 2010-2011 with a minimum of 95 % participation.      

Student achievement in ELA in all students 1-5 will increase:
1st Passing rate up to 95 %
2nd from 77.8 % to 80 %
3rd from 94.3 % to 96 %
4th from 83.9 % to 85 %
5th from 89.9 % to 92 %

Actions, Strategies and Interventions for Language Arts goals

1. 
Use the Hall County Balanced Literacy Framework as an instructional guide in developing student’s literacy
2.  Continue use of Writer’s Workshop in all classrooms
3.  Continue support for the implementation of Guided Reading-small group reading using leveled books
4.  Administer and analyze benchmark assessments and use data to drive instruction
5.  Increase the use of RTI and implement small group instruction in reading
6.  Begin utilizing technology to plan, instruct, and communicate as the Charter writing process begins for the Academy of Communication and Technology.

 

Parent Involvement

Measurable Goals:
Increase in Parent Volunteers as indicated through the parent computer sign in.

Increase in Parent Involvement in educational learning as indicated through signing in at PTO meetings, parent conferences, parent trainings and Curriculum Night Meetings.

Increase in Parent communication as indicated by parent’s signing student agendas each night.

Actions, Strategies, and Interventions for Parent Involvement

Increase Educational/Learning Opportunities for Parents -Provide parent training to assist children with educational needs such as Renzulli Learning Systems, Study skills, and Comprehension Strategies

Increase Parent Involvement by Recruiting and Recognizing Parent Volunteers

Increase Communication
- English/Spanish Weekly Newsletter from Teacher, English/Spanish Monthly Newsletter from School , student agendas utilized in grades K-5 , PTO Meeting in English/Spanish , Maximize use of Parent Liaison

Offering opportunities for families to attend student recognition and to showcase student work and talents
