Honors Mentorship Program Community Presentations
On Tuesday, April 16, 2012-13 HMP students used traditional and digital media to describe what they had learned in a yearlong mentorship experience that extends academic knowledge and skills in students’ areas of interest in ways that go well beyond the expectations that would be appropriate for more typical high school students. Selected participants are matched with successful professionals who serve as mentors by providing real-life career experiences, including the latest information and technology in the field. Students have opportunities to conduct research and create products that exemplify the unique experiences they have had in their chosen fields of study. Emphasis is on autonomous learning and authentic intellectual work. The culminating research projects/products are shared with real audiences in a professional manner.
