Honor Mentorship Program

Honors Mentorship Program

The Honors Mentorship Program is an honors elective for juniors and seniors with advanced abilities and interests. The program gives highly motivated, mature students from all six Hall County high schools a career mentorship designed around the individual student’s interest in a specific field or career. Each selected participant is matched with a professional who serves as his or her mentor by providing a real-life career experience, including the latest information and technology in the field, that goes well beyond what we are capable of delivering in a classroom setting. Honors Mentorship students are currently studying with area doctors, veterinarians, engineers, lawyers, journalists, and a variety of other professionals!

Honors Mentorship students participate in a Ropes course as part of their orientation and team building exercises. See them tackle some of those physical challenges and read their observations about the experience.

She discussed the field of law and opportunities that exist in the field.

Black History Month Presentation

These presentations were created by our HMP students for Black History Month. Our goal was for the HMP students to research an African American that made a contribution or positive change in the career the HMP student hopes to pursue. As my students researched their person, they were amazed by the obstacles that so many of them had to overcome to reach their goals. We hoped to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the contributions made by minorities.

This video depicts the inhumane environment of the city garbage dump in which the Nicaraguans lived prior to Amigos for Christ's humble involvement. Through the various projects (including education, scholarship, water, spirituality, community development, home-building, health, and micro-enterprise and opportunity), Amigos has enabled Nicaraguans to raise their standard of living and become self-sufficient and proud of what their now brighter futures will hold. This video will be used during summer mission trip retreats.
