NHMS Counseling Program

The goals of the North Hall Middle School counseling program align with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national model  for school counseling. Counselors provide a comprehensive  program for all students which focuses on three areas of development: academic, career and personal/social.     Student needs are addressed through classroom guidance, small group counseling, individual counseling, and parent-teacher consultation.

When To Call A School Counselor

1.  When your student is having difficulty achieving academically.

2. When family changes interfere with academic progress.

3.  When you want to become more involved in your student's educational and future career choices.

4.  When you want to arrange a meeting with several teachers or with both teacher(s) and a counselor.

5.  When you need help with interpreting test scores or other school information you have received.

6.  When you need to know about community resources and agencies that are available.
