System to Roll Out K-12 Career Connection Program (Board of Education)

The Hall County school system plans to introduce a program, 21st Century Awareness Exploration Connections, next school year to intensify that effort at early grades through several other initiatives, including career days, field trips and skits.

FBHS Trio Finishes 1st in GHSA AAA State Literary Meet (Board of Education)

The Flowery Branch High Schools Girls' Trio won 1st place at GHSA State AAA Literary Meet held March 15, 2008 at Houston County High School. Seniors Sophia Allison, Sarah Dunham and Delana Thomas were competing for a third consecutive year. Each year, the trio has won the Region 7AAA Literary Meet, placed at state and, finally as seniors, they won the state championship.

Six Teams Advance to State "Odyssey of the Mind" Competition (Board of Education)

Hall County Schools hosted the regional “Odyssey of the Mind” Tournament Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Flowery Branch High School. Six (6) local teams-- two (2) from Martin Elementary, one (1) from Friendship Elementary, and three (3) from Davis Middle-- won and will now advance to compete at the state level April 19, 2008.

Lula 5th Graders Honored at State Capital (Board of Education)

Lula Elementary 5th grader Madison Saxon was named the State Winner in the Georgia Department of Agriculture 2008 Annual Agriculture Day essay contest. 5th grader Carli Echols was an Honorable Mention selection.
