Special Olympics Set for April 30 (Board of Education)

The annual Area 2 Special Olympics are set to take place at Johnson High School on April 30, 2008.

WHHS Student Finalist for Dooley Award (Board of Education)

West Hall’s Adam Turner was among 20 Georgia high school students named on April 5 as a finalist for the Vincent J. Dooley Award.The awards are given to one male and female senior who exemplifiy teamwork, character and citizenship in their community. Each winner is awarded at $1,000 scholarship while each finalist is given $1,000 to present to the charity of their choice.

Hall Elementary Students Excel At MathFest (Board of Education)

On Saturday, March 29 over 7,000 students from across Georgia participated in the state-wide MathFest Competition for grades K – 6 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. Several Hall County School System elementary schools entered the competition:

2nd Language Bowl Winners Announced (Board of Education)

On March 27, 2008, Gainesville College was the site for the 2nd Annual Modern Language Bowl Challenge. The initial Bowl Challenge, held in March of 2007 at Flowery Branch High School, had students competing in Spanish and French. This year’s field was expanded to include Chinese and Native Spanish Speakers with 150 students entered in the competition.

EHHS Students Work with Lula Students to Improve Performance (Board of Education)
