WHMS to Receive National Schools of Character Promising Practices Award (Board of Education)
Principal Dr. Sarah Justus has announced that West Hall Middle School has been selected to receive a National Schools of Character Promising Practices Award for the successful implementation of two programs--“Parachute Packers” and “Parent Latino Outreach”--so that these programs can serve a “models for others” to possibly replicate.

Five Hall County Students Named Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholars for 2008 (Board of Education)
Dr. Sally Krisel, Rigor Specialists for Hall County Schools has announced that five (5) Hall County students earned the distinction of being named a Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholar for 2008.

World Language Academy Granted Charter Status by State Board of Education (Board of Education)
The Hall County Board of Education has just received notification from the State Board of Education that the World Language Academy has been granted Charter School status, the first ever for the district.

Preliminary AYP Data Signals Some Good News (Board of Education)
As our system continues to analyze the preliminary data we have received from the State Department of Education regarding our annual AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) Report, we see evidence of some very positive occurrences:
