What does the PTO do?

The PTO holds several fund raisers each year such as the Fall Festival, the Fall Fund Raiser (wrapping paper etc. sales), Spring Fund Raiser (cookie dough), The Trojan Warrior run (race/fun run in spring), Golf Tournament, and the Art Auction.  These raise money for us to spend on Arts in the School programs, Teacher Allotments, Teacher of the Year, 5th grade field trip, Student Awards Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, and Wonderful Wednesday. 

How can you be involved? 

You can support our fundraisers by encouraging your child to get involved.  We are also always looking for parent volunteers to help with these programs.  It takes many parents to make all these things happen. Contact one of us on the board and we will be glad to find a place for you to plug in at Mt. Vernon.

We need volunteers on the following committees: 1) Art Auction, 2) Playground Upkeep.  Please contact Claire Shoemaker at the e-mail address below if you can help.
