Welcome to Mt. Vernon Elementary School

Hall County’s first Mount Vernon School began in the late 1800’s in the vicinity of present-day North Hall High School.    Today’s building opened in August, 1993 with a first day enrollment of 590 students and Mr. Wayne Colston as principal.  Ten new classrooms were added in 1996 and again in 2003, increasing Mount Vernon’s capacity to 825 students.  The modern facility is located in a picturesque setting of verdant grazing pastures and rolling hills.  Mount Vernon Elementary won the distinction of being named a Georgia School of Excellence in 2002.  This honor is bestowed on schools which demonstrate excellence in student achievement and academic programs Mrs. Connie Daniels began her tenure as principal at Mount Vernon in the fall of 2008.  She quickly took on the challenge of advancing the school’s adoption of innovative technologies to enhance the classroom learning experience.
