• Assist with medications needed during the school day.
• Give emergency care.
• Provide mandated screenings for vision, color vision, hearing, and scoliosis.
• Identify and follow-up health problems which may interfere with learning.
• Manage the prevention and control of contagious diseases.
• Teach health curriculum (i.e., hand washing, hygiene, etc.).
• Coordinate referrals to community agencies.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Provide staff in-service.
• Participate in disaster preparedness.
• Assist with special health care procedures
