Leadership Development in Hall County

The Hall County School System seeks to improve and enhance leadership potential and performance of all personnel in Hall County through

• An on-going set of experiences to sharpen goal focus, increase knowledge and skills, and improve schools
• A continuum of individual growth opportunities
• Identification of emerging leaders for schools

Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy intends to increase leadership knowledge and skills among teachers by

• Discovering principal-identified and district -selected candidates
• Providing knowledge of self, leadership, and school needs in first year monthly meetings

• Developing  and carrying out local school improvement project in the second year
• Encouraging coaching and mentoring within risk-free environments

Emerging Leaders Cohort Certification Program

The purpose of the Emerging Leaders Cohort Certification Program is to create and expand a qualified pool of aspiring leaders through

• Principal recommendation
• District selection
• Clinical experiences culminating in a leadership credential

Internship Program

The purpose of the Internship Program is to provide experience opportunities for leadership in the Hall County context by

• Assigning one to ten aspiring leaders to schools under the guidance of a principal
• Making selections by district personnel
• Engaging in a year-long program of planned experiences including coaching and mentoring

Principals and Assistant Principals

Monthly meetings enhance performance and clarify and maintain attention to district mission with

• District embedded knowledge and skills
• District goal focus
• Information sharing

Individual Plans for
Principals and Assistant Principals

Individual Plans for Principals and Assistant Principals encourage and reward individual excellence through

• District-offered program for principals beyond year 2
• Individually-identified learning experiences that renew enthusiasm, facilitate learning new skills, or otherwise re-energize serving principals and assistant principals.
