We are excited to share information about our school both in person and on our website.  Lanier Elementary has a rich tradition of providing an outstanding education for its students. I am proud to be a part of such a wonderful place.

Students, parents, teachers, and staff at Lanier Elementary School form a vibrant, safe, community school that helps children grow academically, physically, and emotionally.  Our goal is to help each child experience success in a nurturing environment.

Please visit us and volunteer to help a teacher.  Parents are encouraged to become regular lunch visitors and P.A.L. volunteers.  Involved parents make a difference in the academic success of our children.  Together, we will have a great school year. Read more about Lanier Here..

Volunteers are now Mandated Reporters of Child Abuse


This summer, the law defining who mandated reporters of child abuse are, was expanded to include all school volunteers. School faculty and staff have been mandated reporters of child abuse for years. Now the law includes school volunteers. If you are a school volunteer and you suspect child abuse of any form you are required by law to report this to the school counselor, Rochelle Edmonds, or directly to the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) at 770-532-8781. A report to DFCS must be made within 24 hours or charges can be made against the person failing to report suspected abuse.
