JHS Wrestling team placed 3rd in the Area/Region this weekend. This is the first step to the state tournament for the athletes. We had 8 kids place in the top 4 which qualify them for the Sectionals tournament.

Tommy Luc and Yuriel Ramirez were 2nd
Pedro Estrada, Ismael Castro, and Tony Cao were 3rd
Ian Cundiff, Aaron Martinez, Martin Mireles were 4th

David Castaneda, Fredis Velasquez and Jerry Ochoa took 5th which makes them alternates.

This is the largest number of qualifiers that JHS has ever had at Sectionals!   Sectionals will begin competition this Friday @ Lanier High School in Gwinnett at 4:00pm. Please come check out the tournament and cheer them on! If they place in the top 8 this weekend the following weekend is the state championships.

The Hall County School District will be adding an instructional day to replace one that was recently lost during the weather related school closures.

At the February 10 work session, the Hall County Board of Education will be asked to approve designating Monday, February 17, 2014, which had been previously designated as a Teacher Workday, as a regular school day for students and teachers.

Individual questions from families should be addressed with the appropriate school principal.
