Congratulations to two of our speech and debate students!  Jessica Collier has won first place in the Hall County Optimist Oratorical contest.  She will go on to represent Hall County Optimists and JHS in the Optimist Zone Oratorical Competition later this year.  Nick Ward placed second for the boys' group in the same contest!  Congratulations to both of them!  They will both be delivering their speeches at the Hall County Optimist Club at the regular meetings in the coming weeks.

The University of North Georgia, Oakwood campus (Gainesville State College) is hosting a FAFSA help session this Friday, March 1, from 4-7 p.m. in the ACTT center. This session is designed to help you complete your application for financial aid for college, regardless of what college you are planning on attending. If you have not yet applied for financial aid, please plan to attend this session with your parents. For more information, see the flyer outside Student Services.

The Johnson High School FCCLA chapter competed at the regional competition this past week-end in Loganville and several placed and even advanced to the state competition in March.

 

Seniors Jenifer Miralrio and Kayley Bell received a Bronze in Illustrated Talk.

 

Sophmores Alejandra Rivas, Jasmine Vela and Edith Gutierrez received a Silver and will be advancing to State Competition in March, for their entry in Life Event Planning.

 

Congratulations to all these students who represented Johnson High School so well.
