Sports and Athletics

Eligibility Information
Seventh and Eighth grade students are eligible to participate in athletics in Hall County middle schools. Students must pass five of seven classes in the previous semester in order to be eligible to participate in sports. For the 2008-2009 school year, students must pass both math and language arts to be eligible to participate in middle school sports. All student-athletes must have a current physical on file with the athletic director. Forms may be obtained from one of the coaches.  

 
Football
The football team is open to 7th and 8th grade students.  The season begins in late August and runs through mid-October.  Garrett Saunders is the EHMS head football coach.
 
 
Cross Country
Cross country season begins in August.  7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to participate.  EHMS is proud to be the home of the 2007 Girls Hall County Cross Country Champions.  Dana Farr and Ben Palmer serve as the EHMS cross country coaches.
 
 
 
Basketball
East Hall Middle School has basketball programs for 7th and 8th grade girls and boys.  Tryouts take place in mid-October.  Cuts are made according to the individual coach’s standards.  The basketball season usually lasts until late January or early February.  The 7th grade teams play a 10-game schedule.  The 8th grade teams usually play a 12-game schedule with a Hall County tournament at the end of the season.  LaChele Brown, Mia Borders, and Bob Comley serve as EHMS basketball coaches.
 
 
Cheerleading
Cheerleading is open to 7th and 8th grade students.  The squad cheers for football in the fall and basketball in the winter.  Tryouts are usually held in the spring for the upcoming school year.  Jennifer Ellenburg and Jennifer Godwin serve as coaches for the EHMS cheerleaders.
 
Wrestling
Wrestling season begins in mid-October and usually concludes in mid-December.  Garrett Saunders is the head coach.
 
Soccer
There are boys and girls soccer teams at EHMS which are open to 7th and 8th grade students.  Tryouts usually begin in late January, with cuts made according to each coach’s discretion.  The season concludes in April with the Hall County Middle School Soccer Tournament.  Kasha Mastrodomenico and Jeremy Farr serve as the soccer coaches for East Hall Middle School.
 
Track
Track season usually begins in March and concludes in April with the Hall County Track Championship.  7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to participate.  Wes Macloskie and Mia Borders serve as the EHMS track coaches.
