EHMS Band Program

The primary goal of the East Hall Middle School Band is to help all students reach their potential as musicians.  The joy and fulfillment that comes from playing a musical instrument is an important part of a child’s development.  Geoffrey Lonberger serves as the Band Director for EHMS.

Sixth Grade Band

NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. Classes are divided into like instrument groups.  This division allows for more specialized instruction and increased time on task.  Sixth grade band will perform two concerts during the year.  Additional performances may be scheduled if the opportunity arises.  These public performances build pride in students as they share their musical accomplishments with friends and family.

Seventh Grade Band

The student must have previous experience in band or have had at least one year of private lessons on the band instrument.  The student will continue to learn fundamentals and develop technique.  More performance opportunities are offered.

Eighth Grade Band

The student must have previous experience in band or have had at least one year of private lessons on the band instrument.  Each student will continue to learn fundamentals and develop technique.  These students will form the top-performing band representing East Hall Middle School through various performing ensembles.

EHMS Chorus Group
Over 230 East Hall Middle students participate in Chorus.  EHMS is proud to introduce Mrs. Emily Allison as the Choral Director for the 2008-2009 school year.  Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students are welcome to take part in Chorus.  Opportunities to perform occur throughout the year, including Honor Chorus, Choral Festival, All State Chorus, and various performances both at the Middle School and throughout the surrounding area.
Huge Christmas and Spring concerts have recently attracted over 700 audience members.  Chorus provides the students an opportunity to not only improve their singing voice,  but also improve their general performance capabilities, including acting and defeating the fear of performing before a large crowd.  On an every-other-year schedule,  EHMS Chorus performs a Spring Musical, showcasing the talents of Seventh and Eighth grade students in a huge production usually performed three to four nights for the community.
