4/16/2014

The East Hall Track team's 4x100 relay team consisting of Quay Jarrells, Milton Whelchel, Dre Brawner, and Jacque Ash advanced to the state sectionals which will be held on April 26th.  Jacque will also compete in the 100m and 200m at the sectionals meet.  Dmitry Hunter also advanced in the 110 hurdles. Please congratulate them on their opportunity to continue their season.

The East Hall girls soccer team lost to West Hall 8-0 tonight at West Hall. The boys team also lost a thrilling game that ended 0-0 after 2 overtimes in PK's. West Hall won the PK shootout 3-1.

 

Mar. 21, 2014

The East Hall soccer teams played Monroe Area tonight at home. The girls lost a hard fought game 1-0 to take their season record to 0-8. The 7th ranked boys team defeated Monroe 5-2 to take their season record to 5-1-3. The Vikings had scoring strikes from 5 different players; Jason Mendoza, Amner Campos, Leo Toledo, Carlos Castrejon and Ricardo Becerra. Jason Mendoza, Leo Toledo and Ricardo Becerra each had assists on the night as well

The East Hall soccer teams played White Co. in region 7-AAA action tonight in Rabittown. The girls lost 6-0 to take their season record to 0-6 (0-2 in region 7-AAA). The #3 ranked East Hall boys team defeated White Co. 5-0 to take their season record to 4-0-3 (2-0 in 7-AAA).

 

March 7, 2014

The #2 ranked East Hall boys soccer team played two tough games this week and came away with a tie in each of the contests. On Tuesday, March 4 the guys tied Mountain View 2-2 and tonight they tied Lanier 1-1. Both games were very competitive and played well by both teams. The boys are now 3-0-3 on the season (1-0 Region 7AAA). The boys and girls play host to White Co. next Tuesday, March 11 in Region 7-AAA action.

 

Feb. 28, 2014

The East Hall soccer teams opened their region schedule at Fannin Co. on Friday night. The girls went to pk's after two overtimes and lost the game 3-2. The boys team opened up region play by defeating Fannin Co. 6-0.

 

On Saturday, the girls lost to Madison Co. 6-0 at East Hall Stadium to take their season record to 0-3 (0-1 Region 7-AAA). The #2 ranked East Hall boys beat Madison Co. 2-0 to take their season record to 3-0-1 (1-0 Region 7-AAA).

 

Feb 21,2014

The East Hall boys soccer team traveled to Central Gwinnett tonight and came away with a 0-0 tie. There season record is now 1-0-1. Emmanuel Andrade had 8 saves in goal to preserve the tie for the Vikings. The boys and girls teams travel to Fannin County to open up region play next Friday February 28.

 

Feb 18, 2014

The East Hall soccer teams opened their regular season tonight at Lumpkin Co. The girls started off their season by losing to a very talented Lumpkin team 6-0. The boys team opened up their season by defeating Lumpkin Co. 3-0. Goals were scored by Adolfo Adame, Eric Medel and Leo Toledo. Assists came from Leo Toledo, Jason Mendoza and Brandon Bonilla. Manny Andrade had 6 saves in goal to preserve the shut-out.

 

 

Your East Hall Soccer teams started off their 2014 campaign in style by defeating Banks County tonight in Homer. The Lady Vikings came away with a 3-1 victory and the Vikings won 5-0.

Wrestling

Feb. 21, 2014

The East Hall wrestlers had a great weekend of wrestling. We took 5 wrestlers to state and all 5 placed. Kintavious Johnson placed 6th, Will Davidson and JD Holloway both placed 5th, Edward Vergara and Tyler Thomas both finished 3rd. The team also had a top 10 finish, finishing tied for 7th place. These young men and all of our wrestlers have completed a very good season and have represented our school very well this year. Please congratulate these young men when you see them.

Our wrestlers had a very good weekend of wrestling. 5 wrestlers have qualified and will move on to the state competition this weekend. These wrestlers are Will Davidson, Edward Vergara, Tyler Thomas, Kintavious Johnson and JD Holloway. Please Congratulate these young men and wish them well as they go on to represent our school at the State level this weekend.

 

Feb 2014

Our Viking Wrestlers had a very good weekend of wrestling. We had 7 individuals qualify for the sectional tournament next weekend. The following wrestlers will be moving on for a chance to advance to state:
#126 - Will Davidson 2nd place, #152 - Edward Vergara 2nd place, #160 - Abraham Sepulveda 4th place,
#170 - Corey Reece 3rd place, #182 - Tyler Thomas 4th place, #195 - Kintavious Johnson 4th place,
#285 - JD Holloway 2nd place.
As a team we finished 6th over-all.

DEC 13-14-2013

Over the weekend, the wrestlers competed in the John Smith wrestling tournament in Lumpkin County. EHHS was well represented as We finished 4th over all and had 7 out of 14 wrestlers to medal. Medalists were 1st = Edward Vergara and Will Davidson, 2nd = JD Holloway and Corey Reece, 3rd = Kintavious Johnson, and 4th = Tony Johnson and Tyler Thomas. We were also undefeated in dual matches at this tournament defeating Mt. Pisgah, Milton and Habersham county. Please congratulate the wrestlers when you see them. We have a dual match at home tomorrow with Winder Barrow beginning at 5:30. Please come out and support your wrestlers. Thanks.

 

 

Vikings wrestling was successful tonight in their Tri-match in Rabun County. The Vikings defeated Smoky Mountain, NC by a score of 59 - 12. The Vikings then went on to defeat Rabun County by a score of 48 - 36. Our wrestlers represented our school very well so please congratulate them when  you get a chance. Thanks.

Academic Team

The East Hall High Academic Team went up against White County High yesterday in their house, winning one by a landslide and losing one in a squeaker.

The Varsity team beat WCHS 330 to 140. The JV team lost 130 to 160. A great beginning to a new year of competition, but a long way still to go!

Softball

GAINESVILLE -- Natalie Winters struck out seven an scattered three hits in a complete-game, 3-0 shutout win over North Hall Tuesday in Region 7-AAA girls softball action.
Josie Coker paced the offense with two hits and three RBI with a single and a double.
Coker broke a scoreless tie in he fifth with a bases-clearing double.

The Lady Vikings will travel to Stephens County Wednesday.The East Hall Lady Vikings Varsity pounded White County on Thursday 9-2 at EH in seven innings.The East Hall Lady Vikings Varsity scored four runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Kali Turner, an RBI single by Erika Lopez, and a groundout by Josie Coker.

Josie racked up five RBIs on one hit, and that lone hit was a 3 run homerun for the East Hall Lady Vikings Varsity.

Natalie Winters picked up the win for the East Hall Lady Vikings Varsity. Natalie pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and four walks while striking out two.

The East Hall Lady Vikings Varsity went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an RBI double by Kali.

The East Hall Lady Vikings Varsity answered White County's top inning with one run of their own in the fifth. The East Hall Lady Vikings Varsity scored on a fielder's choice.

 

The Lady Vikings will be in action again at West Hall Tuesday Aug. 20th at 5:30.

Volleyball

The East Hall Lady Vikings lost in 2 sets to Buford 12-25,16-25 and then ended the night by defeating Decatur in 3 sets 22-25,25-17,25-17 to advance to Thursday play in the Area 5AAA tournament. The win against Decatur takes the teams overall record to 29-18 (3-6 Area 5AAA).

The #10 East Hall Lady Vikings defeated Gainesville in 3 sets 25-27,25-15,25-18 and then ended the night by defeating Lakeview in 2 sets 25-19,26-24 to take their overall record to 26-13 (2-5 Area 5AAA) in Rabbittown tonight.

The #8 East Hall Lady Vikings defeated Jackson Co. in 2 sets 25-17,25-17 and lost to West Hall in 2 sets 22-25,23-25 to take their overall record to 24-13 (2-5 Area 5AAA) in Rabbittown tonight.

The #9 East Hall Lady Vikings defeated Decatur in 2 sets 25-22,25-17 and lost to Blessed Trinity in 2 sets 14-25,7-25 to take their overall record to 21-12 (2-4 Area 5AAA) in Decatur tonight.

The win against Decatur gave Coach Deppe his 200th Career win.

Kara Hix also moved to 3rd all time in digs for the state of Georgia with her 23 digs on the night.

The East Hall Lady Vikings won 2 matches tonight at Lanier to take their overall season record to 9-0. The Lady Vikings defeated Duluth in 3 sets to start the night 25-15,20-25,25-12. The Lady Vikings then defeated host Lanier in 3 sets 25-19,18-25,25-16. Kara Hix went on an 11 point service run to win the first game. In game 3, Ashleigh Burnett went on a 13 point service run after Jessica Chmiel started the game with a 7 point service run.

Stats on the day are as follows:

Tarryn Long had 10 points on serve with 5 aces. She also had 22 kills, 2 blocks and 22 digs.

Kara Hix had 15 pts. on serve with 3 aces. She also had 10 kills, 3 assists and 38 digs.

The JV Lady Vikings host their annual Spikefest on Saturday, August 17 at East Hall High School and the East Hall Community Center.

The East Hall Lady Vikings won 5 matches at the Eastside Eagle Playdate today. The Lady Vikings won all 5 matches in straight sets; Stockbridge 25-4,25-21, Salem 25-7,25-17, Alcovy 25-14,25-10, Eastside 25-5,25-12 and Jackson-Butts County 25-17,25-14. The 5 wins takes the Lady Vikings to 7-0 on the young season and marks the programs best start in school history.

Tarryn Long had 23 points on serve with 8 aces. She also had 35 kills and 16 digs.

Kara Hix had 17 pts. on serve with 8 aces. She also had 9 kills, 4 assists and 28 digs.

Ashleigh Burnett  scored 30 pts. on serve with 6 aces. She also had 1 assist, 13 kills and 14 digs.

Cassida Shockley scored 22 pts. on serve with 10 aces. She also had 7 kills, 72 assists and 4 digs.

Jessica Chmiel had 42 pts. scored on serve with 8 aces. She also had 1 kill, 1 assists and 4 digs.

Emily Roberts had 12 pts. on serve with 7 aces. She also had 12 kills and 4 digs.

Allison Segars had 11 points scored on serve with 1 ace, 7 kills, 2 blocks and 6 digs.

Savannah Lindsey scored 21 pts. on serve with 7 aces and 11 digs.

Minette Maldanado recorded her first block and kills (2) at the varsity level.

Lorna Ayon also recorded her first varsity digs with 3.

The varsity and jv teams will play next at Lanier this Thursday, August 15 against Duluth and Lanier.

The East Hall Lady Vikings started their 2013 regular season with a pair of wins tonight over Flowery Branch and Lumpkin County at Lumpkin. The Lady Vikings beat Flowery Branch in straight sets 27-25,25-16 to start the evening and then ended their night by defeating Lumpkin County in straight sets 25-14,25-16.

Stats on the night are as follows:

Cassida Shockley had 11 points on serve with 3 aces. She also had 1 digs and 30 assists.

Ashleigh Burnett had 8 pts. on serve with 2 kills and 10 digs.

Kara Hix scored 12 pts. on serve with 1 assist, 6 kills and 35 digs.

Jessica Chmiel had 17 pts. scored on serve, 1 ace, 6 assists and 2 digs.
