Language Arts

Language Arts students at Chestatee Middle School are actively learning as they are meeting the Georgia Performance Standards, also known as the GPS. An emphasis is now placed upon performance tasks, student work, and teacher commentary. In addition to the English Language Arts Standards, students are working in all content areas to reach the goal of reading 25 books or one million words a year.

Literature Circles

Literature circles allow several students to read and discuss books together. It not only encourages reading, but teaches students that reading is fun and interesting.
