The CMS Choral Program develops a student’s ability to understand musical ideas and respond to music's expressive qualities. The over-all growth of this response is the measure of personal musicianship for each student. All students are given the opportunity to practice aesthetic expression through relevant and successful experiences as an individual and as a team.
Students are given the opportunity to sing in a performing group and to develop progressive music reading and singing skills. Through this active participation, students will attain the necessary experience for singing in subsequent music programs or personal musical endeavors.
The choral program offers choruses in each grade level along with a number of smaller ensembles. All choral students will participate in the Holiday Concert, Spring Concert, and Large Group Performance Evaluation. A number of students will also participate in Ninth District Honor Chorus, All-State Chorus, and the Heritage Music Festival in Orlando, FL. Along with these major events, some of our small ensembles will sing for special events upon request.
