
Art Student in the News!
Congratulations to seventh grader Danielle Buhot! Her poster design took second place in Hall county for the Georgia Trafic Safety contest.
Visual arts is a course that provides a place where the student’s curiosity and creativity can be stirred. At CMS it is our goal to create an environment where students feel safe to make discoveries, share feelings and express ideas in a visual format. Our studies will allow us to experiment with a variety of media while developing strong art criticism skills.
Visual Art Objectives
Upon completion of this course the student will have:
A syllabus detailing these objectives and more will be sent home. If returned with a signature, the student can earn 100 points.
Supplies Needed
A pencil will be required in class everyday!
Poster board will be used to construct a portfolio and can be purchased in the art room.
8th grade portfolios will be yellow
7th grade portfolios will be blue
6th grade portfolios will be green
All poster board is sold for a dollar.
Approximately three days after the beginning of the term, a quiz grade will be taken based on the supplies the students have in class. This quiz is worth 100 points. This is a one time chance to earn credit for being prepared for class.

All projects will be evaluated by the student and the teacher using the rubric below. Each category is rated on a 0-5 scale.

All projects must be submitted on the due date, completed or not. Once the evaluations are finished, students may complete/correct any project and re-submit for a second evaluation and change of grade.
