Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarship information is updated every Friday in the counselor’s office. Please stop by for a handout. All scholarships have deadlines to apply. We encourage you to check with us often to give yourself as many scholarship opportunities as possible. We recommend you also check the website link and inquire with the financial aid offices of the colleges you are interested.

 

 

CHESTATEE HIGH SCHOOL

 

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS ENTERING 9TH GRADE IN AUGUST 2008 OR LATER

 

English Language Arts – 4 units, including 1 unit of 9th Grade Literature and Composition and 1 unit of American Literature and Composition

 

Mathematics – 4 units, including Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2 and Mathematics 3 or their equivalents.  Remaining unit must come from GPS/AP/IB courses.

 

Science – 4 units, including 1 unit of Physical Science or Physics, 1 unit of Biology, and 1 unit of Chemistry, Earth Systems, Environmental Science.  Remaining unit must come from GPS/AP/IB courses.

 

Social Studies – 3 units, including 1 unit of World History, 1 unit of United States History, and ½ unit of Economics and ½ unit of American Government/Civics.

 

Health/Physical Education – 1 unit, including ½ unit of Health and ½ unit of Personal Fitness.

 

Career Tech and/or Foreign Language and/or Fine Arts – 4 units (students planning to enter the University System of Georgia or most other post-secondary institutions must take at least 2 units of the same foreign language)

 

Additional Electives – 8 units from any area

 

It is highly recommended that students select electives in a focused area of interest that will prepare them for college and work readiness.  Students may earn 3 units of credit in a coherent sequence of Career Tech courses through a self-selected pathway leading to college and career readiness.

Technical/Career WITH DISTINCTION

A high school program of study signifying that a student has satisfactorily completed a technology/career preparatory curriculum as specified by the Hall County Board of Education, as well as one (1) additional unit from Core Areas or Fine Arts, and has attained a grade point average in Core Courses of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale or 80 numeric average.

In order to graduate from a Hall County high school, a student must complete all course work for his/her

chosen diploma track to be eligible to participate in graduation practice and ceremonies.
