Scholarship Information
For seniors going off to college or technical school, the cost can seem overwhelming. There are many opportunities to help fund post-secondary education, with time and effort!
For more information regarding the HOPE scholarship check out this link: http://www.gaosa.org/newsletter/newsletter121207.html
Notebook: there is a notebook in the guidance office full of scholarship applications. It is updated regularly and students may make copies of the applications.
Bulletin Boards: Check the board outside the guidance office for additional scholarship information. The Board across from the Art Room will post College Open House times and dates.
www.fastweb.com: Sign up and fill out a profile. They will send you notice of scholarships that fill your profile.
The North Georgia Community Foundation: check this website out for a list of local scholarships, including the Jenny Melton and others: www.ngcf.org. Deadlines are approaching fast!
Research the college to which you were accepted. Check out your college’s website and look in the financial aid section. Each college offers scholarships, grants, and loans.
Research major corporations. Many large businesses, such as Wal-Mart or Target, offer scholarships at a local level. Check out the community resources offered on their websites.
Just remember: You have a better chance of getting the scholarships that take a lot of time and effort to apply for…because not as many people will put in the time and effort to apply!
