About the Media Center

McEver Elementary School Media Center has over a large collection of materials for every member of our school family. We provide books to approximately 450 students, most who have limited reading material at home. Students come to the media center regularly for lessons to develop their information literacy skills and to check out new books. Teachers sign up for additional time in the library for story time and cooperative instruction. The library is always open and students and staff are always welcome to check out books, take Accelerated Reader quizzes, and receive help finding information. Please refer to our Media Center Manual to learn more about our circulation, collection, services, policies, and schedules.

Kittye Nivens
Welcome to our Media Center!   I'm the Media Specialist and I love my job connecting with kids. I get to read at story time, help students find great books, and teach the learning community how to find and use information.

Our school's two Media Clerks have been part of the McEver family for years and know everyone and everything about this school. What would I do with out tech-savvy Cyndi, and super-organizer-decorator Sandra? We're a great team.
