5th Grade State Writing Rubric - Students will be taking the state writing test in 5th grade.  In order to prepare them for this assessment, fourth grade teachers will expect students to be meeting these standards by the end of 4th grade.

What Parents Can Do At Home to Help
Read to your child every day and have your child read to you
Teach your child a new word every day
Make sure that your child gets enough sleep each night
Talk to your child and pay attention to what your child says to you
Give your child practice exercising responsibility
Talk about school every day and make sure your child knows you think school is important
Remember that you are your child's first and most influential teacher
Help your child develop homework routines
Make sure your child know that you expect him to do his best
