Fall Festival Fun
Martin's Fall Festival on Saturday, October 24, was a huge success. The Martin community enjoyed games, face painting, food, and fellowship. Thanks to PTO for organizing this fun event and fundraiser.
Martin Moves on with Charter
Martin parents and staff voted Tuesday to move forward with seeking charter status. The community overwhelmingly approved this at the PTO meeting. The school will seek state approval of charter status in November. If granted, Martin will open as a charter school in August 2010. Martin Elementary anticipates exciting changes for our students in the future.
The Martin 5
Martin has chosen five rules from Ron Clark's book The Essential 55: An Award-Winning Educator's Rules for Discovering the Successful Student in Every Child to emphasize all year. Let's all follow the Martin 5!
1. Respond to adults.
2. Make eye contact.
3. Respect other students' comments, opinions, and ideas.
4. When walking in line keep your arms at your sides, and move quietly.
5. No matter the circumstances, always be honest.
