The Chicopee Woods Elementary library media program works in partnership with teachers and administrators to build a learning community in which students are engaged in authentic, information-learning experiences.  Through collaboration, leadership, and technology the media program supports the curricular goals of the school by preparing students and their families to meet the demands of an information-saturated world.  Additionally, the media program honors the many races, cultural and economic backgrounds of our students by promoting and supporting a diverse collection.

· Provides intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats

· Provides resources and learning experiences that promote lifelong reading and learning

· Provides instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing and using information and ideas

· Utilizes collaboration with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students
